Proper attire for cycling?

I realized one day cycling in my fave pairs of Levis jeans and Adidas athletic shoes is still the same joy as cycling with the special shoes attached to the cleats for the clipless pedals, that sky-blue organic wool jersey and the nothing screams "bike-dork" pair of spandex bike shorts!
